During the hub-bub of pre-party preparation, Gavin saw me with my camera and was very interested in making a connection.
Making time for planned portraits. They are only 1 once!
Bring on the color! Reflecting Happiness, and it hints at the energy of the day.
When you are holding the whole world in your arms. Celebrating, at peace, and hearts over flowing in love. Truly a moment when time needs to stand still.
In the moment celebration!
They are amazing!!! We love them. Now, the only problem is figuring out which ones to print. – Sueann, Mommy
I get to photograph, Gavin.
The parents, Sueann and Tom, and I have known each other for a good many years. I have actually known Sueann since 1989. I photographed their wedding and many other family events in their lives, but none is more special than the arrival of their first child, Gavin.
Gavin was a scheduled c-section and Sueann being as organized as she is, called me to set-up a time for me to come to the hospital and photograph their newest member. Only two days old!!! What a great opportunity to capture some great images for long time friends.
I parked on the top of the garage, of course, there were no other spaces. I took my camera bag out of the trunk and made my way to the elevators. At the reception desk, I asked where I might find room 3016…pointing and giving directions, I thanked the woman and headed in the direction she pointed. When I arrived to the 3rd, I signed in and got my visitor’s pass which made me feel completely official. I was ready to go.
Mom handed me the peanut. I immediately took out my cell phone and snapped a picture. It is rare to hold so much precious in such a small bundle. She said he had just eaten. Just changed and very content, Gavin began to slip into a baby’s sleep.

Every session is so unique, this New Born Session was no different … We had several breaks in the shooting including one to take care of lint, (yep, it’s a baby sized lint roller.) and a quick visit from the Doc.
